Dress to Impress!
When preparing for a job interview, people frequently wonder how to dress appropriately. The first impression is very important, especially in this situation, because if you are not prepared as you should, you do not get a second chance.
In a job interview, everything is important. The first thing that your potential employer notices about you is your appearance – the way you are dressed and your body language. If you fail to appeal to them, you have pretty much destroyed your chances, because it might happen that your interviewer will loose some of the interest in you during the interview.
The most important thing in an interview is the non-verbal communication. Your every move is put under the microscope – from the way you enter the room, to the way you dress and how your body language presents you.
First of all, dressing for an interview is not such a big philosophy. If you are a man, a two-piece suit with a matching tie and shoes. The color should be black, dark gray or navy blue. You should definitely not go dressed with a blazer and different color pants.
If you are a woman, you could go with a business suit, or any other kind of business outfit, such as a tailored business wear. The color situation is pretty much the same; you should pick conservative colors. You should also take into consideration the time of the year, as you would look stupid wearing wool during a hot day of summer.
Another factor that matter in the way you should dress is the company and the job you are applying for, because you will not wear an elegant business suit, if you are applying for a stonemason position.
Also, you should not forget to have your shoes shined and very clean. Being dressed in a stylish, business suit and wearing a dirty pair of shoes will surely tear down any chances to get the desired job.
At last, you must not disregard your hygiene. Nobody wants to work with a smelly person, but you should also stay clear of strong smelling perfume. And if you are a man, you should not forget to shave.
